The Samin is a five pointed star. In nearly every religion or spiritual practice the pentagram is considered an extremely powerful figure in removing negative energy. The five points of the sacred star traditionally indicate the five elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit.
In Reiki, it is used to draw out negative energy from specific points. For example, in cases of stings and bites, the center portion of the star encloses the sting or bite to remove the negative energy from within.
